HOLY FUCK DEATH ANGEL

HOLY SHIT!

Have you ever went to a show where you were ripped to shreds by the band? They manipulated you, ate you, and spat you out within about 45 mins?

Okay that might be extreme, but, that is what occurred on the night on Thursday July 22nd at REGGIE's!

HOLY FUCK.

The band was AMAZING and rocked our lame asses from start to finish! DAMN DAMN DAMN. I have not been rocked that hard in quite awhile and it was all thanks to the boys in DA led by our good buddy Mark Osegueda.

BTW, he still moves around that stage like he is twenty fucking years old,. He is better than most front men half his age, and he is one of the nicest guys on the planet.

The lineup consists of Ted Aguilar (Guitar), Rob Castevany (Lead Guitar), Damien Sisson (Bass), and Will "Little Momma" Carroll (Drums)

DAMN DAMN DAMN! They are the picture of excellence when it comes to true metal bands. The style in which they have played for over two decades is perfect, never missing a beat even through the lineup changes they have endured.

When you look up THRASH, DEATH ANGEL should be the first fucking band to come up in the search engine. not only did they blow headliners Soilwork out of the water, they most likely left a carnage of bodies after leaving the stage.

Fucking awesome...

Fear Factory 7/20/10 THE METRO

FEAR FACTORY FUCKING SLAYED TUESDAY NIGHT. The show was fantastic and a good time was had by all in this assault on our senses by industrimetal's (MY NEW WORD) only successful band.

The crowd was whipped into a frenzy throughout the set, including a rant by one Burton C. Bell about BP. Thus, he got the crowd to chant, "BP MUST PAY!" How is that for a fucking statement, yay for Burton!

Although the band has been around for years, they still kicked ass better than any newer bands I have seen in a long time. (That is the subject of one of my next blogs BTW)

The setlist included faves, Digimortal, Suffer, Resurrection, Salvation and my fave Replica.

Dino, Gene, and Byron played their collective asses off the whole night, once again proving to the masses that the layoff did not detract from the core.

The Fear Factory have been at it for over two decades, heres to two more!

AFTER THE BURIAL DOES A NO NO

After the burial was on the bill on Tuesday night in support of Fear Factory on their current tour. The band has been together since 2004, they hail from Minnesota.

Okay that's the good...

The bad? They fucking blow and not only that, they pulled a no-no Tuesday night, answering a heckler in the audience. I tried to get into it, since usually, I give bands a fair shake before making a final decision. However, I was not impressed by this quintet and wish they would go back to Minnesota and stay there.

I mean, WTF? Why on earth are you even caring what the hell someone says about your band? You should be happy someone signed your tired asses in the first place.

This kind of harks back to what Burton said about artist development, I mean, I'm not a record exec but, did anyone tell these fools to just go out there and play, not worry about idiots in the audience? Although in this instance, I agree with the heckler.

The man in the audience I guess said something like, you suck. In turn, I believe it was the bassist, Lerichard Foral who said, Fuck you FAGGOT!

OKAY! First off, I know that we in metal are supposed to break the rules, not be politically correct but FAGGOT? We obviously know where this guys head is at. Have you no tact? And furthermore, whats wrong with being a faggot?

So, I guess if I was up there heckling you would call me a ni**a??? *Laughs*

WOW. What an ass!

That's alright. You guys keep sucking like your doing, someone out there likes you but really, you need to grow thicker skin, dude. That person may have been jealous. Then again, I don't see how considering that there is nothing to be jealous about.

THUMBS DOWN!!!

BURTON C BELL --There is no more ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

In the interview conducted by our own Karma Omowale, Burton C. Bell from Fear Factory mentions how things are different now; that there is no more Artist Development.

No one knows better than him, as the legendary singer of Fear Factory has seen a lot in the industry change, moreover he has a point.

Being a journalist in the scene you can see the difference between the state of music today particularly metal, versus only five years ago.

Burton said, that bands do not have that "guy" anymore and that bands are expected to already be established. Moreover, he also said that big companies, like their former, Roadrunner, don't promote like they used to. This, of course, has do to the economy, being that it is in the most disgusting state that it has been in over the past ten years.

The record companies have been hit hard by the internet becoming a factor, making it easy for people to download whole albums for a price (or not) versus going out to the record stores. (Whats that?) *laughs*

Not only that, artists are more accessible to fans through their own Myspace, Facebooks, Blogs and whatever else they can use to promote themselves thus not needing the person to do the work.

Since that has taken place, many companies have fallen by the wayside, either just barely making it or ending up in bankruptcy court.

This is even more true in harder music. The quality and quantity of bands that are coming out these days is very poor.

Gone are the days when great new music by hot new bands would be the first thing you went out to Tower to buy.

Maybe I am old fashioned like Burton, because I see that the bands already established are keeping their fans because we as record consumers know that there is not a lot of new talent to get into.

Therefore, Burton's point about the lack of Artist Development is a valid one. There are not a great number of good new bands because there is nobody to bring them along.

ANYONE can have a band, put their shit on Youtube and FB and sell cd demos out of their cars. That does not mean that they are any good.

Unfortunately, these last couple of years has been a wasteland as far as up and coming bands go. There are a few bright lights but nothing as significant as when bands like Lamb of God, Devildriver, Killswitch, etc hit the scene.

Burton you are correct sir. Hopefully someone will listen to you and change that.
